Abstract:
Micronucleus analysis and translocation detection by fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) technique in lymphocytes of radiological and nuclear workers were performed. None of the persons involved were exposed to over the occupational annual dose limits. Micronucleus frequencies tended to increase in function of cumulative exposure expressed by working years, though not overwhelming 40 per thousand cells, i.e. slightly more than the range of the occupationally not exposed population category. The translocation detection by FISH has not lead to detectable result for the persons cumulating 100–250 mSv during their working years.
